When I copy files from a CD or DVD to my Home directory, the files that
are copied are given read only permissions. Prior to Hardy, the user
that copied the files would have read/write permissions.
Steps to reproduce:

I don't know how to reproduce it. I can only give more information.
I didn't initially know how to use strace so I incorrectly tried to
redirect strace's output to a file: strace -p 8144 > strace8144. That
will (always I think) create a file of zero bytes. Later I learned how
to use strace properl

To clarify my last remark, if Tracker is to be really useful, it should
be well integrated with the rest of the desktop and not just be an app
unto itself.
In my opinion, the real fix for this bug would be to fix whichever
issues Tracker may have, not to remove the feature.

I remote-controlled Amar's computer and did the requested testing. My
benchmark was transferring two 350 mb avi files onto a 1 gib USB 2.0 key
(this key is not the only one affected).
I did the testing using plain nautilus drag and drop, cp, and gvfs-copy.

I'm getting the same SIGSEGV in g_str_hash(), playing songs from my
iPod, and found it happens with the same file over and over. The file
doesn't seem to be damaged, as long as it plays ok from the device and
is played ok if from Exaile.

Not sure if my issue is due to the question mark but The Linux Action Show and
a few other podcasts are difficult to download in Rhythmbox.
I found that if I pull up the feed page in a browser and hit refresh, Rhythmbox
will then see the update in the feed and download it. If I miss the update
I'm also seeing this on a Toshiba M35X-S114 with a 855GME.

close it if I right click and choose properties and then close file

I've got the same problem as described above by others. I've had a look
at my /etc/hosts and it all seems ok. I've just disabled bluetooth in
the Sessions but havent restarted yet to see if it has any effect

now when an audio cd is inserted nothing disappears or freezes, but cd's
tracks aren't loaded by sound juicer, i make the disc read again but
tracks are still not recognised
