Sorry for not making this clear: Gimp was already installed as well. As
was Opera and okular, which also showed up as available applications
once I had installed Gnome. These three applications were installed
prior to installing f-spot, but still weren't picked up. I also double-

I tried to DELETE the file that totem was reading with sudo rm -rf ...
the file was deleted, but totem was impossible to close

I've had a similar problem, I copied one file to a memory card using
nautilus, copying another one with a similar file cause nautilus to
starting using 100% CPU and increasing memory usage. Killing the
nautilus window and forcibly quiting stopped the runaway process.

bug to me: when you install F-Spot, you don't always want to have GIMP

If you install f-spot with dependencies without actually having Gnome
installed, the menu for opening a photo in another application is empty.
Installing Gnome fixes the problem. My guess is a missed dependency

- in nautilusselect a file I want to send by mail
- right-click and select "send-to"
- choose "evolution mail" in the dropdown menu
- enter a few letters in the address field and select an entry from the list

Aha! Looks like you need to have compiz enabled to make this happen.
Open 2 windows. Hit the button and they'll get minimized. Then click one
of them on the panel and that window will maximize (or restore) back.
And now, when you hit the button, the minimized window comes crashing
down on you. Can

with the last updates, now that button is no more greyed. So , that problem is
solved.
But i discover other problem: i made rules to move some mails in
specific folders and the result is very strange:
- all the emails are now downloaded directly in the folder corresponding to the
first rule

-test with gnome desktop-data from hardy (1:2.22.2-ubuntu2), thing are the
same, the background is still corrupted!
