The rooted Nautilus window does not crash. But it seems that any
application does intensive io, and is not root, does in fact crash.
Although just a hunch, I have a feeling that this might be kernel
related. I reported this bug, after the second time that it had
happened, on my Windows XP
small detail, it should be send upstream by someone interested on it,

The sane behaviour should be that the sound stopped playing. No popup, nothing.
that's the point, it's just a preview: put the cursor there, listen for two
seconds, hit delete and it's gone. If it was me looking for a bugfix, i'd look
to where it watches for the cursor
Sorry for the double-post, but I have better luck generating thumbnails
using totem-xine. By that I mean installing totem-xine, then telling
gnome-video-thumbnailer to use totem-xine.
For anyone who is new to Ubuntu and who lands on this page via a search engine,
here are the instructions.

Problem' button and I can see now, it is a normal behavior of this

I cd into ~/.thumbnails/fail/gnome-thumbnail-factory and keep deleting
all those failed thumbnails, then refreshing the directory in nautilus,
I can eventually get thumbnails for all the files that failed. I
