users-admin works much better on Intrepid (8.10). If I create a user
named "admin" it takes the existing admin group (112) and reassigns it a
new ID in the user range (like 1002) and adds the admin user to all the
normal user groups apparently without problems as there are no messages

an Inspiron 8600 with all the latest patches including proposed and
backports. When I alter the brightness, the keyboard stops working and
the process 'hald-addon-dell' sits at the top of the list output by the

I had a similar experience with this gvfsd-ftp. I had mounted a shar on
my machine, and did some resync. Suddenly 50 av all cpu power was soaked

Binary package hint: totem
When returning from stand-by I lose audio, i.e. no sound playback is possible
with any player. When hitting Test in Preferences -> Sound I get the attached
error message. Also pls find dmesg file attached. There's a line in it saying
"[16837.3894

I can confirm the strange behaviour;
Was trying to print a .pdf with landscape pages in it, so i've selected
Landscape from Print Setup.
In the Print dialog, under Page Setup dialog, i have:
Pages per Side: 4
Page Ordering: Left to right, top to bottom

This is a backward incompatibility bug introduced by some careless
developers. I have stopped using Ubuntu because of this and others.
Suse is now my choice. More stability.
