BTW since I reported this bug I changed to using the binary ATI driver
8.56.4.
I still can't change resolution using 'Monitor Resolution Settings', but
I can change them using the catalyst control center[sic].
However, the changes don't 'stick', i.e. when I log out and back in the
resolution had

Fresh installation of Intepid in VirtualBox (with all Updates). When
trying to add a new keyboard layout the application crashes like
discribed already above:
- start gnome-keyboard-properties
- click on + to add e new layout
- click on by language tab
thats enough - CRASH

Hi: apologies for the somwhat flip comment in the bug report: I may have
been frustrated by not being able to find the right component.
From memory, I had a bluetooth 'phone connected and was browsing the
pictures folder.
I believe the URL was something like obex://{GUID}
