I've just done some debugging on this, and this is caused because Compiz
is not shipping a desktop file in /usr/share/gnome/wm-properties

Well this is happening to me now. On 3 machines. one upgraded, one
32bit fresh install and one 64bit fresh install. Same exact thing as

the example is a binary file though and doesn't crash in jaunty, eog and
rsvg-view complain about the formatting and nautilus doesn't thumbnail

BTW it will be really cool to be able to finally add my own custom menu.
There are a lot of docs and things I use regularly and having my own
menu will help reduce the clutter on my top panel and desktop a lot.
