Steve, I didn't notice before but when I run gnome-screensaver-
preferences (still 2.24.0-0ubuntu5) sometimes the screensavers show up
and sometimes they don't. When they do, selecting one of them has no

Desktop effects are in use, however, if memory serves me correctly this
has been a bug in Gnome long before the advent of XGL/Beryl/Compiz (I
can test this later this evening). I am currently using desktop effects
in my environment.
Simplest repro steps are as follow:

display on screen when I use the brightness hotkeys. The brightness
does get changed, but no slider is shown. The slider does show up for

Thanks for opening the upstream-report, this issue is confirmed. BTW:
Usually it's not needed to open a bug on launchpad if there is one
already upstream, we simply don't have the manpower (and womanpower. hi
maco! ;-) ) to fix this ourselfs and rely on the upstream-work anyway.

Fully updated now I seem not to face this issue, and when I try
downgrade brasero + libbrasero-media0 to versions which caused trouble
before I get a slightly different behaviour: nautilus refuses to start
but is not "spammed" in window list, and when started manually it gives
a very different erro

Well, I just wanted to disconnect from a ftp-server with this little
icon (the same as for ejecting cds) and nautilus crashed...
disconnecting was successful, but I expected nautilus to be open after
disconnecting

Same problem overhere, also when trying to use Brasero 0.8.2 to burn a
file the "burn" button in the "Disc Burning Setup" screen stays grey/
doesn't work.
Anyone a solution?
