1. Open Rhythmbox. In my case, it's a fresh-from-the-repos copy of Rhythmbox.
I'm on Ubuntu 8.10.

This seems a bug in the dependencies between the 2 packages "ekiga" and
"ekiga-gtkonly".
You probably could fix this manually:
1) Remove the package "ekiga"
2) install "ekiga-gtkonly"
