Have you configured skype? I have Ubuntu 9.04 and Skype 2.0.0.72 and the

When adding layouts though keyboard preferences GUI they are limited to
four, however. When adding layouts though gconf-editor user is able to
add more than four.
This might be a limitation in the program or maybe a predefined setting.

was taken from my X session to a new-style gdm, and on logging in, back

This bug started manifesting after upgrade to Karmic alpha.
The problem is that when I open a pull down menu in Evolution, like the
server selector in the Folder->Subscriptions or the Receiving connection
type in the mail account preferences
I also had this problem (Gnome, Ubuntu 9.0.4) and Archer's fix worked
for me. Thanks Archer. For information I had been playing around with
visual effects settings although I don't recall what I specifically did
to trigger the problem.

I'm offered in the desktop right click menu the choices to "Unmount"
(good) or "Eject" (insane!) my usb flash disk.
Though the mental image of my usb stick being forcibly ejected from the

Empirically is seems that gdm 2.26 is appearing on whichever monitor
contains the mouse pointer, which in my case at bootup seems to be one
pixel right of centre, putting it just onto my secondary monitor. I
assume gdm 2.20 tried to pick the primary monitor.

Unresponsive gdm greeter displayed
On one of my machines, the only interactive user is *not* displayed in
the selection box. It sounds as if the criteria for user filtering need
to be refined in both directions.

I am testing karmic kuola, kernel 2.6.31.1 w/ nvidia driver 185.18.18+patch,
using compiz as window manager.
Both updates dropped you to a shell after the update was installed, have to
input login information twice, overrides current theme, ignores
gconf>apps>gdm>simple-gre

The kerneloops package correctly creates the user as a system user,
so this seems to be a GDM issue.
I can't see what is different about the kernoops user that makes it
show up, is the only system user listed?
