The "problem" still there. Users continue to ask how should they run
nautilus with superuser privileges so that everything works. Workaround
mentioned in bug #238668 with "sudo dbus-launch nautilus" makes nautilus
to work with root trash in the same way as for "normal" accounts. Is

I was able to get totem to play the NASA wmv stream after many crashes.
So: it does work sometimes without gdb. It definitely appears to be

No we shouldn't. g-v-c-applet is a pulseaudio client and should be able
to autospawn the daemon on demand, like it does currently. Rather than
adding in workarounds for users who choose to go through the bother of
uninstalling Pulseaudio, why don't you just remove the applet from

I rebooted several times, upgrading a few bits and pieces each time. It's
gnome-pkg-tools (0.14.3ubuntu1) karmic; urgency=low

With this the gnome-volume-control(-applet) doesn't try to reconnect,
and so won't eat CPU cycles. Thanks!
And it can also be added to /etc/pulse/client.conf for system wide
effect.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. Unfortunately a paper
cut should be a small usability issue that affects many people and is
quick and easy to fix. I'm afraid this bug can't be addressed as part of
this project.
