Yes, I'm still seeing this, with a freshly-installed-from-alpha4
installation. I'm all up to date and so far the screensaver and display
sleep have both never activated on their own as if, as someone here
said, the system is never considered idle for some reason.

The thing is that i can not do anything to the system, as I understand
it is on the looped boot sequence (just the gdm splash part). Also the
only button that works for me is the power button, when pressed the
shutting down sequence begins, Ubuntu logo, and moving mouse cursor with
loading symbol.

rosetta/launchpad managed translation and the strings get compiled in to the

a combined libxklavier/Xorg issue which we fully understand now (and the
xorg issue is fixed in Karmic now). This one is more likely a xrandr

1. The fact that the defaul in gdm was USA, even though a different
layout was selected during installation (bug 408292)
2. Setting the layout in gdm doesn't actually take effect for password

I updated to karmic 2 weeks ago. At first the screensaver/power
management didn't work at all. After the first week, screensaver
started working, but the power management (turning the monitor off)

On Karmic alpha 5, sometimes GDM doesn't show the list of users on the
face browser and there is no where to type a username in.
When this happens I use Ctrl+Alt+F1 to login and kill the offending
gdm-simple-greeter process.
This will then restart

Here's a git diff for UK and US English, its based on the gnome git of
gnome-panel. I'd do some more but I really need to write a script to
automate adding the key combination. I'm also not sure how key
combinations are reperesented in languages that use a different
character set such as cryllic.

And, I also confirm this problem with Ubuntu Karmic Alpha 5, using Ekiga
from repos.
Workaround:
Use the Command Line (Terminal), and Start ekiga with:

Applications do not seem to work with gnome proxy settings anymore
I am not certain, but it sounds as though this bug could be the fault
that I am having (I don't understand the technical problem description).
I have been using 9.04 (Jaunty) since May (with all updates), but I
hadn't used the recurrence feature of the Calendar function in 9.04
until yesterday.
