I think the idea that users expect a file to be their wallpaper is a bit
unrealistic. Many users would like to set their wallpaper in ways that
are completely different from interacting with actual files -- right
clicking an image in Firefox, for instance (where it's called "desktop

I get no error when it doesn't work. The mute box stays checked and the
little red/white x stays in place. As I say this is only when the

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
recently, the sound fail, its impossible to play music or watch video
it worked smoothly before.
it affects all applications (firefox, vlc ...) not only rythmbox, so i
guess it s a sound problem in kernel.

is identified, and hopefully solved in Karmic. You must have an empty
homedir or password field in /etc/passwd, which is leading to trouble
when trying to commit (see bug 316667). And the problem with the user

Ah, thanks the precisions. Indeed, in the future I guess I'll add a
checkbox that will reflect the state of REMOVE_HOME, and will change it
if needed. At least, in the default case, REMOVE_HOME is 0, so the
message is right.

I try to open a Folder with "open as root", Nautilus hangs up, but only
the the Root-Nautilus, my own Instances aren't affected. This happens

I deal with a very large playlist at work (3000+). I like rearranging
the order of upcoming songs, but the list's scroll position jumps when
you start to drag.
Has this been changed to work with Jaunty? (I have not tried the above
fix yet). I ditched using the program for a while because of this

nadrimajstor: the problem with empty home dir field has nothing to do
with the present report. To me, that's bug 316667, which will be fix
very soon in Karmic. The present bug is not very clear to me, and it may
be fixed by the move to PolicyKit1 in Karmic.
