The critical thing about this bug is, that it floods .xsession-errors

No USB issue here (U100) - just flashing brightness.
I added (on Ubuntu) the "brightness applet" to my panel, and with it, I can
adjust the LCD brightness with no flashing at all.

FWIW: This worked in Jaunty, so this is a new bug in Karmic.
This is particularly important for people running with encrypted swap
partitions, because hibernate doesn't play nicely with encrypted swap
yet. Whenever I shutdown / suspend / restart, I'm constantly afraid

that I may have had Evolution running when I did the update, failed to
restart before testing, and therefore the process running when it
crashed was still the pre-patch one.

At every startup these applets crash:
- gweather
- multiload
- keyboard
- drivemount
by "crash" I mean dialog is displayed asking if I want to remove or keep for
each of them

It's not a nautilus bug that installing another file manager overrides
the default handler for inode/directory, and it's a much more complex
problem than that. Furthermore, this seems to have absolutely nothing to
do with nautilus, but instead a packaging bug with 'kile' Recommending
the world.

Fresh install of 9.10 beta. I've followed the instructions from
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/PlayingDVDs#Ubuntu 9.04 and
9.10 (i386, amd64)
installed libdvdread4 and ran the command sudo
/usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh
