i've got just the opposite problem - i can't get hibernate/suspend
options to show up in Gnome (they do in KDE). They worked fine in 9.04,
but disappeared in 9.10. The various gconf-editor hacks i've read about
have made no difference.

Just a quick note that a workaround that seems to work for me is to
peform the page-down by clicking on the empty area on the scroll-bar.
This seems to perform a more sensible approach, with only a line or so
of context instead of the much too large amount when the space bar or
page down is used.

The exiftool method is what I used to fix my corruption. Unfortunately I
had some photos that had already been adjusted because my camera had the
wrong date set for quite a long time. I forget the exact steps I took,
but the end result was all of my photos being off by at least a couple
hours. Stup
i have reported this "upstream" at:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=600758
and tagged it as gnome-keyring. Maybe they will know where to categorize
it.

I just wanted to note that I have a HP DV2910US and I'm having this
problem, but I have more information. Under Jaunty, suspend on lid
closure worked fine. Also, I had to upgrade some multimedia packages to
Karmic versions to resolve some other problems, which included pulling
in the 2.6.31-14 ke
For anyone who needs to restore the original EXIF dates and times
without restoring from backup, the following command should do it.
exiftool -r "-CreateDate>DateTimeOriginal" *.jpg
(-r option for recursing into lower directories)
