I too am having this problem with clean installations of 9.10 Karmic on
two dell laptops. Both are running integrated Intel graphic cards.
Power settings have been set to "Blank Screen" on lid close. The system

I am seeing a similar behavior when trying to unlock on Karmic today. I
had to kill the keyring daemon from the console (ctlr+alt+F1). I have
seen it twice today. I am not sure it is relevant here.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Lock the screen - ctrl + alt + 'L'
2. Try to unlock the screen with possibly
Brightness-Applet doesn't work for me. Screen stays on low brightness
until I reboot.
This is on a HP dv4-1120us laptop.

I was messing around with it just now, and was able to get it to work by
disabling and re-enabling the Last.fm plugin and then restarting
Rhythmbox. Strange, but it's working now so I'm happy.

Okay, it worked in Jaunty, and it is broken again in Karmic.
I'd like to see notifications of Jabber contacts becoming online, no
matter whether my Emacs or shell or browser is in fullscreen. Is this
really an exotic use case?
I didn't find any Gnome option for switching them on, not even in gco
C de-Avillez: i did it.

Can you confirm that you are sending with Thunderbird as an attached
file and viewing in IMAP? I can't make it work with gmail, evolution as
sending clients; Only thunderbird so far with the .tif example file, per
