Changing the DNS servers to google DNS did also solve this problem for
me.
I'm in Canada and was alternating between Rogers' Cable DNS servers and
OpenDNS, neither of which work properly.

mode:
Turn off "Browse" mode (click the "Browse" button in the control bar to toggle
the view on/off).
Apparently, if *you* don't see the folders first, neither does
