Just freshly installed Maverick 10.10 64bit on a Lenovo X301 and after
three days gnome-power-manager is at 193MB. Doesn't seem like the
Maverick fix worked.

There is no specific image really. You can try and reproduce it by
placing a few pictures into a folder and go through each one, press
ctrl+p, enter and then pressing the right arrow key and repeat the

You do have a point there. But I believe this affects the display as a
whole and is not specific to the banner. I don't know much about how
this works. If I understand correctly, the user configuration files
would not be read at all until I login right? Is it possible that the
last state is maintai
Low priority? Really? This is not some compiler bug that only devs will
see. This is a false message to the user that he is about to loose all
his data! I replaced my SSD due to this false message. Giving false
error messages that makes users freak out should never be low priority.

Ubuntu can't control backlight on my laptop. This happened also in 10.04
and 10.10 and I had to fix this using nvidia_bl driver (and it took
quite a lot of time to set the correct parameters. Other function keys
work properly.
