turn the screen off or go in to suspend. After the time has passed the
system will eminently enter power-saving
I'm having the same issue so I fill a report because didn't found this report
before.
Although, pressing down the ALT key the text appear again but still dissapear
after rollover the forward button.

I'm the OP and adjustment and bubble started to work again for me after
a new Natty install using yesterday's daily installer build, running
nvidia-current. (The installer installed 173, but current was
recommended in jockey. Anyway, the adjustment & bubble worked with 173
as well)
