Natty is Ubuntu 11.04 ? If I use that I am still using Gnome? I had run
Natty with the test
ISO and Virtual Box, although it is very slow, and it doesn't mount the

I am now pretty sure that the problem is corruption on the gnome virtual

Happened again, this time while typing a Gmail. I tried the
sync_to_vblank trick and that seems to reduce the number of freezes, but
it does not eliminate them.
Before it crashed, computer had been on for 24 hours, at various times
