Yes, it still slows dims the screen ...I'm guessing when it's working or
trying to locate files. Maybe the search engine itself is to blame? I do
have a lot of data, that I search through
plus a few external hard drive units, as well. Any help/suggestions

I confirm the same problem running Ubuntu 11.04 32bit on a virtual
machine (VirtualBox), using Kubuntu. The workaround reported by Frido
did solved the issue.

2 weeks ago, I upgraded to 11.04.
Again Calendar alarms would not work.
I checked file /usr/lib/evolution/X.XX/evolution. It had 2.32, but
the Evolution Alarm notifier in Start-up

I have changed nothing, except to apply updates, and now things seem to
be working. Has this been fixed or has it just gone away? Anyone else
still seeing the problem?
