It took me a bit to try to figure out how to reproduce this. I think
this happens when you flag tiles that don't have either a number or a

When I hold down CTRL+ALT and then hold down Left/Right arrow keys to
very quickly slide through all the workspaces (I currently have 5x2
workspaces), every fifth time or so all the workspaces

When long running copy/move operations are in progress and ALL other
"normal" Nautilus windows are closed, leaving only the one operation
dialog open - the Ubuntu starter will not open any new "normal" Nautilus
windows to work with when pressing the starter icon!

I don't know. It's a workaround until the functionality is in LightDM.
Rob would know where this is in its roadmap.
