This patch breaks the keyboard layout switcher from KDE3 and Trinity. It works
correctly with the layout switcher in KDE4. Have other people tested this
patch
with other layout switchers? What are the results?

This is happening to me with an USB keyboard on an IBM ThinkPad X41. g-s-d goes
to 100% CPU and the numlock led starts blinking in a crazy and irregular way.
The X41 BIOS has the option to keep the internal keyboard numlock separated
from the external keyboard one selected; so only the led on
if the problem it's about permissions, why not use chown and chmod with
-R option as background process on apply button?
