I can confirm that this bug is still present on Rhythmbox 2.97 on Ubuntu
12.10. It affects me pretty majorly since I listen to most of my songs
on repeat. Once a playlist with a single song is put on repeat, it never
rescrobbles after the first time I hit play until I manually interrupt
and play th

I also created a test account to see which files on disk were created
for setting up an account. It worked there, but removing the files on
my home account (hoping that this would solve the problem) did not fix
it. But it is possible I missed something.

Do you mean google REST API interface, or the python unofficial API library?
The first one is undocumented, so it doesn't have a license, but being a web
service, I don't think you have to worry about license.
The second isn't GPL, but again, we don't have to link against it (and

Has one of you bothered to check the API for Google Music? If that is
not compatible with GPL this is unlikely to happen. So it would be nice
if you folks could do some investigation on that side already, instead
of voting for this request without even knowing if it is doable :)

It is not only the license but also the general ToS: we need to be
compatible, and this is often rather difficult for Free Software.

I might take ownership of this, but I'm not sure if I'll have enough time, and
I don't know python (nor amarok internals, actually, but I'm pretty used to KDE
development).

KMail has a nice feature which would be fine to have in Evolution too.
You can configure a "custom helo" to be sent to the E-Mail server in the
SMTP context, which is really useful if you need to submit a custom
hostname (e.g. if the port is tunneled via ssh).

Well, Amarok doesn't use Python but Qt/C++
Well, I know, I even did small contributions back in version 1.4...I was
referring to Google Music unofficial API (Python).
I think it would be difficult to use them, I'll have to make a port
