the crash happened when I booted from USB to see if Vivid works on my
machine. The USB stick has since been repurposed, but if it helps I can
try to recreate it and see if the problem can be reproduced. Which image
should I use - the one I originally had the problem with or the current
daily

I see! No, unfortunately we also need the accute dead keys for á, é, í,
ó and ú.
The "key" (phisically speaking) must be the same. That is, 'a = á, and
'c = ç
(We also have other accents, such as à, ã, ê, etc., but all other accents work
perfectly in the US-Intl with dead keys layo
Maybe this is also related with the Android version and OEM
modifications. My Xperia Z1 has Android version 4.4.4.
