Just to clarify current behavior with recent gdm updates
If nvidia drivers are installed but not in use (intel prime profile) then the
wayland on ubuntu option is present & usable.
If the nvidia drivers are in use (nvidia prime profile) then the wayland on
ubuntu option is no longer available
