Adding nomodeset rebuilding initrd and rebooting does not fix it.
The Lenovo ThinkPad W540 has no option to disable the integrated video
card. The internal display is always run by the intel. I have it set to
use the nvidia on external displays because that allows supporting more
displays.

nvidia drivers build and install just fine. Starting gdm3 fails to
detect displays, but Xorg does start. Stopping gdm3 and running a bare
Xorg gets working displays. Restarting gdm3 and displays work.

Confirmed reproduced on latest Ubuntu 18.04.1. Switching between
terminals with ctrl+alt+f1-7 does not work after initial switch and
logout. Only a blank screen and unresponsive keyboard/mouse which had
to be resolved through reboot.

boot machine. The machine has a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPU. I have

Using Gnome 3 or Ubuntu session (default in 18.04) when you try to run
some game in fullscreen mode instead it opens at top left small window.
This happens for example for Way to Go! Steam game and perhaps any SDL 1
game. It's easy to reproduce, install a

I'm also affected by the same bug, after moving from 16.04 LTS to 18.04
LTS using upgrade process driven by update manager.
Thumbnails of files was visible under 16.04 LTS. Those thumbnails of

I just now realized that this issue only occurs when the window is on my
"second" monitor.
If move the window to the primary display then the window menu has
Minimize, Maximize, Move, Resize, Always on Top, Always on Visible
Workspace, Move Workspace Down, Move to Monitor Right, Close
But on
That got no activity since june, is that still an issue? should it be
closed?

As you suggest, I did some tests with lightdm on Ubuntu 18.10 and it's
working. Low battery usage with Intel and second monitor working with
Nvidia.

I think there might be a race condition involved here, i.e., I think
this behavior only happens if you start typing your password at the
"wrong time" while the computer is in the process of waking up from
sleep.
Note that if you click the Cancel button and then try unlocking your
screen again, the
