I have gnome-calendar installed on Ubuntu 19.04, and gedit is still
displayed as the only available choice in the default app settings. The
workaround was to run the following: gio mime text/calendar
org.gnome.Calendar.desktop
Now gnome-calendar appears as the default (and only) calendar app...

Hi ,
One of our client upgraded his system ( full intel from clevo ) from
16.04 to 18.04.
After that he cannot login from GDM (tried ubuntu/Unity/gnome-flashback)
However he can login from VT1 .
No "password incorrect" error is returned just looping
Tried to resume, and was greeted with this (attached photo).
It then threw me back to the display manager (lightdm?) where I had to
enter password, then the mutter/window manager's unlock screen opened
and I had to enter password again. No crash this time but very odd
behaviour
