Removing ~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0/ worked for me, too.
I upgraded from ‘focal’ to ‘jammy’.
Following Bojan's suggestion, ‘pipewiresrc’ appeared
in the output of ‘gst-inspect-1.0’ after the purge.

Sorry, we're not going to make this change.
However, I think we could accept a patch to add OnlyShowIn=GNOME; to the
.desktop and add an additional .desktop with NotShowIn=GNOME; with the
Name set to Nautilus.
There's a chance upstream would accept that change. And I'd like to see
it proposed ups

The bug disappeared for some old installs but not all. For those that
still had the bug, the following seemed to fix the problem:
