I have gnome-terminal pinned as favorite . But when I open a window,
gnome-terminal is shown at the bottom instead of adding a red dot to the
pinned icon. That only happens with gnome-terminal. Other applications
(eg. Thunderbird, hexchat, emacs) do have the dot beside the pin

I fresh installed Ubuntu 22.04 (64-bit) on 27th April 2022 and this is still
occurring for me.

Sorry, we're not going to make this change.
However, I think we could accept a patch to add OnlyShowIn=GNOME; to the
.desktop and add an additional .desktop with NotShowIn=GNOME; with the
Name set to Nautilus.
There's a chance upstream would accept that change. And I'd like to see

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1986455, so is being marked as such.
Removing ~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0/ worked for me, too.
I upgraded from ‘focal’ to ‘jammy’.
Following Bojan's suggestion, ‘pipewiresrc’ appeared
in the output of ‘gst-inspect-1.0’ after the purge.
