I successfully completed the wiki test case with mutter 42.9-0ubuntu1 on
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS with the GNOME, GNOME Classic, Ubuntu and Ubuntu on
Xorg sessions.
I also successfully completed Extra Test Case 1.

I installed mutter 42.9-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS with about 6 GB of
RAM. Before the update, my memory went from about 20% to 50% with the
test case and stayed there. After the update,

Thank you for your bug report. Do you get any error dialog displayed
before the hang?
Are you sure it's due to the dot and not the length of the filename?
Trying 'w.example.conf' it doesn't hang where it displays an error and
hand renaming the same file 'wireguard.example.conf'
