To be even more precise: you activated a countdown that would
automatically close this issue if no answer would be given to the only
question that was not answerable because of the very nature of this bug.
The Launchpad software is just obeying to human decisions, there.

You're just saying no one tried to reproduce the bug _and it was just
decided to let it expire with the distribution version itself_, this is
different.

Ondrej actually means if we see issues with gvfs v1.50.5 that we should
open a new issue, to clarify. That suggests (implicitly, not explicitly)
that v1.50.5 of gvfs has (might?) an appropriate fix.
I have no idea when this will hit a version of Ubuntu I can test this
on. But it sounds promising!

No, but launchpad closes bugs set as 'incomplete' with no answer because
that's what is usually done when the bug doesn't have enough information
to be actionable, anyway if it's fixed in a newer Ubuntu release then it

I am also able to reproduce this bug. I logged in via ssh and collected
journal logs and drm_info while the screen was blank and unrecoverable.
MUTTER_DEBUG_ENABLE_ATOMIC_KMS=0 does in fact solve the issue for me.

I would like to add a quick update.

- I upgraded to Mantic Minotaur and the issue persists
- I disabled legacy tray icons support from the extension Ubuntu Appindicators,
and after a reboot the issue cannot be reproduced. Ob
