I guess this patch should work. I tried to remain as close to the
existing code as possible, just remove that erroneous parameter which
comes from self.args[0]. (No idea how to properly format the patch here,
anyway, you get the point and can apply manually.)

OK, so I apparently have *that* class of bug (Heisenbug, I think the
joke runs?) that as soon as I try to look at it more closely, everything
starts working absolutely fine. xD;;;
I closed Firefox, Thunderbird, and Discord, then ran a Sysprof, using
sysprof-cli --memprof -- gnome-control-center ba
Fractional scaling is already disabled, and the gear icon for Wayland
selection is not visible on the login screen.

And... That's not enough I think. I'm sorry, I'm not really familiar
with what's happening there. Despite `gnome-terminal` starting
correctly, `--class` is still ignored, possibly on purpose as per the
`swallow this arguments` comment in `__init__`. So this is intentional.

I did the apport-cli and it said it worked but went to the errors

Thanks for sharing that workaround, it never happened to me before
updating to 24.10 (earlier this week) and this morning for no reason it
started. This compatiblity option allowed me to return to a sane
behavior.

I switched to wayland about a month ago due to monitor connectivity
issues and Gnome, and I've noticed no issues so far. Everything runs
smoother than with x11 and I can also play video games no problem. I'm
still running the nvidia 550 driver for linux. Also all apps respect the
system theme now.
I'm fairly certain this is already fixed.

I need to run with --no-sandbox on existing appimages at least, and it's
nearly impossible to do development work on for example electron apps
without explicitly setting sysctl -w
kernel.apparmor_restrict_unprivileged_userns=0.
