I have the same issue. Although this isn't a solution instead of
pressing Ctrl+Alt+F4 and then needing to reboot I just press super+L
(window_key+L) to lock the screen and then just enter my password to
unlock and it works every time. Still waiting for a proper solution but
this is a workaround for
