Follow these steps to reproduce the bug:
1- Open an app such as Firefox or Chrome (let's assume Firefox)
2- Perform an operation that downloads a file of a type that Nautilus can
generate thumbnails for
3- Then click on the Open File

Mutter ignore all monitor events for a second or two after it has been

SP1. I'm not entirely sure why gnome-shell crashed, but I did install a
community-modified plugin that hasn't been merged into the main branch. I'm not

I reproduced the issue, but when I ran killall -USR gnome-shell it said:
Operation not permitted
So I used sudo and it worked. But there are no files in /var/crash.

I just ran ubuntu-bug /var/crash/, and from the dialogs popping up I
got the impression it was uploaded. If that was a dud, let me know the proper
incantation. :)
(As you can probably tell, reporting ubuntu bugs is not my day-job, but I'm not

the file never appears, and instead Nautilus stops accepting mouse
clicks after Right-Click -> M

You seem to have a snap installed called "auto-cpufreq" that is most
likely causing this.
