[Regression] RTL is malfunctioning in 3.24.39

I've pinned app center to my dock. When it's closed and I right click
it and select "app info" it opens the app center normally and then I
have to go look for the app I want info on. If it's already open it
does the right thing and takes me right there.

Try to open say, an MP4, without an app to play it. The dialog displays
telling you so with a button for the app center. Which still tries to
launch gnome-software. Failed to execute child process...

The "SyntaxWarning" is complaining about the incorrectly escaped string
literal. Backslash followed by a bracket char, i.e. "\(", is not a
valid to python string literal escape sequence.
It was the regular expression library needed to escape the bracket char.

There are currently 3 screens full of app icons, but I am currently unable to
view more than the first one.
Problem started after an update on May 16, 2025. Tried all the "workarounds"
that were suggested, but to of no avail. I've also tried 2 other sets of
mouse/keyboard
