On a freshly installed Ubuntu 24.04.2 a simple GTK3 program that uses
the gtk_menu_bar crashes on startup with a signal dispatch loop. This
only occurs if the program is run under Wayland, and also does not occur
the very first time Ubuntu is started after the install is comp
I've actually read something like that but the thing is, I have two
laptops and both now are on the same version, though one of them was an
upgrade rather than a fresh install. The one that was a fresh install
seems to disable it every time, and the other I don't even need to
enable it to work, as

With xwayland-native-scaling, x11 applications are required to apply
scaling themselves and some applications don't.
For Steam specifically, recent versions of the Steam client should be
able to scale properly. If that's not the case for you, you can force it
to with `steam -forcedesktopscaling 2`
The "Active Screen Edges" feature conflicts with the "Enhanced Tiling"
feature from "Settings > Ubuntu Desktop". When loading the tiling
extension it automatically disables "Active Screen Edges". That happens
on every log-in or screen unlock.
That's not ideal but it is the caveat of implementing "
