GDM has a bugfix by Robert Ancell: Description: Don't autologin if using ecryptfs - if you do then the home directory is empty as you need the password entered via PAM to decrypt it. This is not a perfect solution as the home directory may not be mounted yet. Author: Robert Ancell

I'm facing a variation of the problem that Jay Pipes is facing. In my case, if I run Evolution in Gnome, it asks for the keyring password. After that, things work fine. However, if I run Evolution without Gnome (i.e., using Fluxbox), Evolution does not ask for the keyring password at startup.
