(i.e. another bug). Why not fix it for the obvious first?
Look at the first post by Soren, where ubuntu-setlocale.patch is
attached with explanation on why it can go wrong. Why not at least fix
this known problem first?

I don't know if I am wrong, but this bug is titled Adding Printer Fails with
no Dialog, but not Adding Printer Fails. Furthermore, this bug is filed
against gnome-cups-manager, not cupsys --- so it is talking about the GUI, not
the printing system backend.

How about if I add a specific printer which really fails, and
gnome-cups-manager fails silently again?
These are 2 problems, hence 2 bugs, and for 2 separate packages.

I agree that this bug is similar to bug 39069, but definitely no a duplicate.
I am complaining that cupsys does not allow me to add a printer, hence I
can't print anything. This is a very major breakage.
