And here too. It seems that it's not related to click speed - it just
doesn't happen once in few runs/plays. I just click ok on the error
message, then click play - and it plays. Or not. Some subtitle
types/files seem to be more prone to problems than others. A race
condition of some kind?

Nope, neither kernel nor Evolution caused any problems since then. The
problems seems to be lost in the seas of entrophy. I'm using
ndiswrapper, so this is not really something special.

Backtrace from attached gdb. It lacks several symbols but only after
poll(), so it should (?) be usable anyway. According to strace the
process hangs indefinetely on the poll() syscall.

Whops! While trying to get some more debug info I the kernel crashed on
me. After a reboot evolution worked again. Therefore, this may be
kernel-related (I experience several stability issues since 2.6.20), but
I'll leave this open for a while.

While browsing new packages in Feisty I stumbled upon a link to python-
dictclient's homepage, gopher://quux.org/1/devel/dictclient. I selected
it and copied into deskbar-applet, then selected "Open gopher...".
Nautilus crashed and restarted. I tried again, this time using Ctr
I couldn't reproduce the bug since installing the debug packages. I may
have updated some libraries at the time (I'm on feisty, so there's quite
a lot of changes), but nothing comes to my mind.
One real difference that comes to my mind is that I have clicked the
"submit bug report" button in appor
This happened when I used Edgy and now, on Feisty. This happens with
Evolution as well. Right now I don't have any -dbg packages, but I'll
submit a crash report after installing them.

Anyway, now the problem seems to have disappeared - I was using compiz without
the window list in the meantime, and I think there were several updates in the
meantime. I have removed debian-menu (along with the menu package), but this
doesn't seem related to
Oh. Sorry for long reply times - the bug is hard to reproduce, sometimes
the window-list works correctly for many hours and sometimes it starts
to get flaky after 30 minutes, and I still can't see how it is connected
with what I do on the machine.

the exact program, but it's the window list applet that causes the
slowdown [disabling it causes the problem to go away]. I attached a gdb
session to it and made several backtraces while the gnome-panel got

on Ubuntu Edgy. Using the window-list causes the gnome-panel slow down
and take over all of the idle CPU (not slowing down the rest of the
system, but still turning my laptop into an oven). Removing the w
/me too :-)

Umh... exactly the same happens on an Edgy running on Lenovo 3000 N100
laptop equipped with a HL-DT-ST 'DVDRAM GMA-4082N' SATA DVD burner.
Neither sound-juicer nor nautilus-cd-burner recognize the drive.
CDParanoia works, cdrecord works as well.
