Sorry, no idea, i also had really weird bahiour with Firefox, so i
assume a lot of things were messed up after the upgrade from 15.10.

Just saw this with a resized Nautilus window: When trying to rename, the
search box pops up in the bottom right corner containing the characters
i just typed, so it seems Nautlus is stuck in a directory/file "search
mode".

- Go to Home
- Highlight a folder, e.g. "Pictures"
- Press F2 or right click "Rename..."
- Press any key -> Focus lost
