In ubuntu 9.10 I had compiz running, now in 10.04 I don't and the
problems disappeared. Therefore it was either being caused by compiz
(most likely) or by an older version of the program. I'll try running
compiz and seeing if the bug reappears.

I have had a look at the PDF you have added and have found that it is
corrupted, this cause the file not to open. I am going to close this bug
because it seems that it is just that PDF file that is broken and not
the viewer. If you can't open other PDFs could you reopen this bug by
setting the stat
