In gnome-games 2.14.2, Aisleriot just crashes when selecting game. The
issue is known upstream (see gnome bug 348332) and fix is available in
gnome-games 2.14.2.1 . Since this bug makes Aisleriot unusable, maybe
gnome-games should be updated in Ubuntu?

Phorque: this patch is for developers information. Users like you and me
better wait until developers test the patch, approve it, after which
they will put updated packages in the repositories. Then you can get it
using update-manager.

What puzzles me is that clicking on audio CD in Places menu in the
panel works - but in left pane of Nautilus it doesn't. I'd think they
use the same cdda handler...

When trying to open a PDF file in GNOME, I get this message:
You can see all my settings in the screenshot - it shows panel properties
dialog and desktop background dialog.
In particular, I have set panel transparency to 100% (transparent), but had
chosen the panel background color to be light blue. Since the desktop
background is also mostly light
