Can we close this bug, since karmic fixed it (installing dvdauthor and
gstreamer plugins), or do we need to keep it open because it still
effects jaunty?

The upgrade to karmic solved this problem for me, even though i had
gtreamer plugins and dvdauthor in jaunty, it still would not work.
Working in karmic is good enough for me (although i would of liked to
find the source of the problem)
