I'm seeing this under metacity/gnome 2, compiz/unity, and gnome-
shell/gnome 3. I'm using the nouveau driver. Monitor hotplug works
excellently otherwise.

Ok, that did fix the slowness. It might be a bug that the sqlite
database can get fragmented like this, and evolution doesn't handle it
well by vacuuming regularly. It's also weird that it happened suddenly
on upgrade from Intrepid to Jaunty.

After upgrading to Jaunty, loading and storing folders is extremely slow
on large mailboxes. For instance, it just took about 10 seconds for my
inbox with 8449 messages to come up, and over 30 for another mailbox
with 8652 messages, with the mes
Also note that using the google calendar specific plugin isn't really an
option because it's broken to the point of uselessness. That's a
separate bug, but it would be better to avoid the need for a separate
plugin altogether by just using caldav properly.
