Perfomance for me with modeset=1 is excellent. No tearing or otherwise.
Note: I am using the nvidia 460 drivers. I have not tested on older
450/455.

I'm updating this as confirmed as I am experiencing the exact same
issues with my BlackBerry Curve 8900. The m3u playlists created on the
BlackBerry have absolute paths - therefore Rythmbox and Banshee should
export playlists in the same fashion.
I will do the upstream reporting but I'm not sure
