This is a bug report, I think. I removed the Evolution Mail application
after installing Thunderbird. After that I could not run the gnome
desktop until I reinstalled (at least some of) gnome [an independent
issue].
In reinstalling gnome, I observed that gnome-desktop-manger would not
install, d
I forgot to mention. My 8.04 install was a clean (formatted the /boot
and / partitions), not an upgrade. Though I had been running 7.10
before installing RC6.
