I just installed Maverick alpha and had this. The error message made
sense to me and I fixed it like this:
mkdir ~/.gnome2/evince
touch ~/.gnome2/evince/last_settings

I had overlooked this.
I'm curious, as I installed standard 8.04 (although it was an update to
7.10) and i don't know how the "-3g" was lost at some point ???
On the other hand, I got 3 machines with Ubuntu, and maybe I'm just
confused.
It is working.
Thnx.

File timestamp lost when copying

defaults,umask=000,gid=1000,uid=1000 0 1
# /dev/sdb1
UUID=ECA4CE6EA4CE3ABA /media/sdb1 ntfs
defaults,umask=000,gid=1000,uid=1000 0 1

Hi Sebastien:
After successful test logged on as ROOT, I logged back with my current
userid, and kept searching, but have not found yet how to set the fstab
to mount correctly (that is, that it behaves as I expect, keeping
timestamps on copy operations).
My current fstab ntfs (defalut) lines:

I have run other tests, and found that if logged as ROOT then timestamp
is handled correctly, but as ubuntu discourages that, I'm normally not
logged as ROOT, but as a normal user.
I understand that ntfs-3g does not allow for changing of files
ownership, and all files in the NTFS disk have ROOT as
Tnx.

nautilus file icon and edit-copy edit-paste into other folder. Is is the
same if you copy a full folder into another one by graphical drag-and-

2. cp -a folder1 folder2 will also get you the same results.
