I'll know in a couple days once I upgrade..I'm on the road most of the

I am having the same problem, and have had it as long as I've been using
Ubuntu (Edgy and Feisty). The activate and deactivate menus are
greyed out, even when logged in as root, and even though my non-root
user has everything except root privs. I can connect via modem just
