I haven't tried or downloaded Karmic yet. But I'll try to do it anyway.
Isn't it possible to try that out with a new version of evince (if
there's any) and Poppler? I have evince version 2.26.1

OK this is the backtrace log I generated using the method that you
described. but this time when I run evince through gdb it doesn't crash
immediately. the program just getting non responsive. the only thing I
can do is force quit it. but I performed the steps you've mentioned

file and displays its cover and other details like number of pages etc. but
after few seconds the program quits. this problem does not occur when reading

I can't seem to find why the .crash report is missing. apport is already
enabled in my distribution( Location /etc/default/apport) and cant find
any crash reports in /var/crash folder. it is empty. Can you please
describe me some other method if available to generate a crash report.

I uploaded a backtrace generated using gdb. Hope it will do the job. the
thing is evince crash seconds later after loading the pdf document, I
barely have enough time to find the process id and generate a backtrace
for that specific scenario. this backtrace is evince displaying some
other pdf
