Could you please try deleting all files in /var/crash? This directory
contains application crash logs, which are then automatically reported
by apport. If you delete the files, does the problem disappear? If not,
could you please list the contents of /var/crash using

I could reproduce it performing the steps mentioned above:

1. Add messaging accounts to empathy
2. select status available
3. select status logged out

I am sorry, I have not tried to play a dvd since then. I just have no

I managed to obtain backtraces. I tested two different scenarios:
1. gdb-totem-xine.txt : Here I started Totem using gdb from the
Terminal, inserted the DVD, which it automatically started to play. Then
I ejected the disc and the totem UI froze.
2. gdb-totem-autorun.txt : Here I let the autorun
the second file
