About PulseAudio, S/PDIF ac3 output:
PulseAudio does not ship an ac3 encoder by default (I believe it is for patent
reasons).

(It won't give you any "Off" profiles, but the rest of the profiles
should be selectable)

Steps to reproduce:
1) Connect a USB headset so you have at least two sound card inputs
2) Start your favorite recording program - I've tested with both audacity and
mumble
3) Make sure this recording program is set to record from pulseaudio and start
recording
4) Open gnom

Ctrl-PgUp/PgDn can be used for switching between tabs in most gtk user
interfaces, but in soundnua this does not work correctly: it also takes
the focus away from the tab control itself (and selecting something
inside the tab?), so you can't use it to cycle between tabs quickl

I meant to change all user visible occurrences of IEC958 to S/PDIF as
the latter would be a more well known / user friendly name for end
users.
Sorry if I missed some spot, but as we're way past string freeze, I
doubt there is anything we can do about it now?

@Guy Taylor, as a workaround you can use the "pavucontrol" application,
available in the repositories as the "pavucontrol" package.
@Seb128, looking from the stack trace, it does not look like
PulseAudio's client API is involved in the infinite recursion. I'm
marking this as invalid for PulseAudio
I will fix this shortly, but we can't upload a new version until the
beta2 freeze is over. Thanks for the cooperation!

Aha. I think it should be
required = ignore
instead of
required-any = ignore
I should probably fix PulseAudio to make "required-any = ignore" work as
well here.
